Activity 1.1
Answer the following questions :

Given the figure above, solve the problems below.

1. If the volts per division setting is 5 V/div, determine the signal’s peak to peak value.
Vpk-pk = 12.5 V
2. If the volts per division setting is 5 V/div, determine the signal’s rms value.
Vrms = 4.419 V
3. If the time per division setting is 5ms/ div, determine the signal’s frequency.
Frequency = 80 Hz
4. If the time per division setting is 5ms/ div, determine the signal’s period.
Period (T) = 0.0125 s

(The solutions are on A.)

Create a report with the following as a guide. (please see the deadline for the written
reports in the other file named – Orientation, Grading System, Requirements)
A. Given the problems above (problems 1 to 4), explain and show your computation for
each and every problem.
1.

2.

3.

4.

B. Given a Tektronix TDS 210 model, draw the façade and enumerate the parts and
discuss its uses.
Tektronix TDS 210 model parts:
1) Channel Keys – this is used for adjusting the channels.
2) Display – where the wave forms and graphs can be seen.
3) Horizontal controls – this is the controls where it can move the waveforms
horizontally.
4) Vertical controls - this is the controls where it can move the waveforms vertically.
5) Trigger controls – this can be used to have a usable display of the input signal.

C. Given the Fluke model in the video link above, draw the façade and enumerate the
parts and discuss its uses.

Fluke model parts:

1) Buttons – this is used for choosing various functions.
2) Display – the measurements can be seen here.
3) Input jacks – this are used for the test leads to be placed.
4) Dial or rotary switch – this is the button for choosing the measurement values.
D. Given the function generator above, draw the façade and enumerate the parts and
discuss its uses.

function generator parts:

1) Power button – this is the button where the device turns on and off.
2) Wave keys – it has the power to adjust the settings to become waves.
3) Display – where we can see the frequency level.
4) Frequency keys – this is the button where it can offer the frequency levels.
5) Main output – this is the source output of the device.
6) TTL Output – In a specified frequency, it can show a square wave in the display.
7) Frequency Adjustment Knob – used for changing the frequency level.
