Chapter 3 METHOD OF RESEARCH

Research Design
Sampling Procedure
 Describe your target population
 Discuss in details or in sequence the steps or stages in
sampling procedure, especially if you are going to use multi-
stage sampling.
Respondents
 Explain how the sample size is computed.
Source of Data
 Mention the data collection technique that you will use. For
instance, for primary data, commonly used are survey,
experiment, observation, interview, focus group discussion.
For secondary data, mention the source.
 Discuss the data gathering procedure.
 State the instruments (if applicable) and discuss how you are
going to test the validity and reliability of your instrument.
Mention as well if the instrument is adapted, modified, or
constructed. If adapted or modified, state the source. Do not
cite the reliability and validity done by other authors. As
stated earlier, state your own plan to test the validity and
reliability of your instruments.
 Discuss the threats to internal and external validity that you
think could affect the study and the ways you plan to do in
order to address them.
Data Analysis
  Mention the specific statistical test that you will use to
answer each research question. No need to write the
formula. Instead, mention the assumptions that you will test
prior to the usage of the inferential statistical tests.

 Use APA format.
