jul 2007 — Oct 2015

• Replacement of combed with carded yarn by changing the yarn parameters

$ [ust by changing 16/1 and 20/1, 7.2 million ] life time pro’t was estimated in
2010 with 2500 knitting machines%
• Studied the impact of different percentages of lycra in the plating yarn, on
physical and dimensional properties of the socks and reduce the inventory of
elastane air covered and nylon/ polyester ’lament items without disturbing
quality parameters of socks. $improved work“ow%

rigidity (”), stretch Recovery (”), Shrinkage (”), ’bre denier and twist per
meter and their impact on socks motif/ patterns. $Product quality improved
and waste reduced%
• Reactive dyeing batch time reduction for cotton socks from 9 hours to 6 hours
in black shades. Reactive/ acid dyeing time reduction for cotton/ nylon Socks
from 12 hours to 9 hours. $Pro’t increased %
• Development of cost competitive spun polyester performance socks
complying quality parameters speci’cally with reference to pilling & wearing
$get orders for 100” polyester socks con’dently%
• Investigation and solution for the root causes of barre in socks $waste
reduction%
• Investigation and solution for the root causes of phenolic yellowing in
bleached socks $improved quality%
• Elimination of the socks pre-heat setting process $saved 1.08 million ]  in a year
and this saving is continue from last 10 years%
• Developed an In-house method for measuring air knots per meter in air
covered yarns $quality control%
• Conducted free éPro’ciency TestingZ for linear density, twist per inches and
coef’cient of friction for yarn $For testing method validation%
• Studied the yarn parameters (cotton, polyester, acrylic, viscose, PC in different
blends, mMlanges in different blends, bamboo, Coolmax, nylon/ polyester/
polypropylene/ elastane/ rubber ’lament, air covered and double covered
etc. in dyed bleached and greige form) responsible for different properties
of the socks and de’ned the critical values of these parameters considering
customer and in-house (processes) requirements. $ quality improvement,
waste reduction and ultimately increase pro’t margins%
