Insights on "VISUAL LITERACY, why we need it?"

Basically, literacy entails to the ability to read and write. Most of the people gave highlight to
academic texts such as researches, articles, and other forms of writing only. Subsequently only
few gave emphasis to visual literacy which is essential for every individual.
Visual literacy focus mainly on the senses. This is not just seeing but also smelling, testing, and
feeling. Being visually literate allows people to look an image into its deeper sense. For, instance
in the movie "Angels and Demons" we can see that Robert Langdon is visually literate person.
He can read symbols and images which for others are normal but actually have meaning.

From this, visual literacy greatly affect our knowledge and understanding about the world.
Through understanding images we can also understand our history and culture and we view
images not just by merely looking on the external sense but going deeper into the meaning it
brings to our lives. Thus, we can appreciate the beauty of every creation, and respect each of
them because of visual literacy.
