Resident Chore List

Haypath CR, MHANC CLP

Instructions:
 This ‘Resident Chore List’ is to be completed weekly at the Resident House Meeting and posted on the
kitchen refrigerator and above the resident mailboxes every weekend; the old ones are to be filed.
 Residents are to proficiently complete his/her chore at least once per week. Residents are to repeat
the chore as needed throughout the week to maintain the cleanliness of the assigned/volunteered
area or appliances.
 At 12PM and 6PM every day, staff are to prompt and assist (as needed) the residents to complete their
chores proficiently.
 For kitchen chores, see the separate ‘Kitchen Clean-Up Schedule’ posted on the kitchen refrigerator
and above the resident mailboxes.

Res. Chore
House Food Shopping:
1. Food shop for the house with staff
2. Get items that staff asks you to get and put them in a shopping cart
3. Push shopping carts
4. Do not shop for yourself until staff dismisses you
Foyer, Both 2nd Floor Staircases & the 2nd Floor Landing:
1. Sweep the areas
2. Clean the banisters and floor moldings
3. Clean any fingerprints off the door, clean the door knobs, the light switches,
the outside of the resident mailboxes
Living Room:
1. Clean windows and doors with glass cleaner
2. Dust window blinds, the corners of the ceiling, the two mantles, the TV, the
floor molding, the window molding
3. Clean furniture, tables, desk and the TV stand
4. Clear away any garbage
5. Sweep the floor
6. Vacuum the rug
Basement:
1. Sweep the floor
2. Clean the table and the TV stand
3. Dust the TV
4. Clear away any garbage
Smoker’s Chore:
1. Sweep up or pick up (with gloves) cigarette butts from the ground; bag them
and put them in an outside garbage can
2. Clear out the cigarette butts from the smoking posts/standing ashtrays; bag
them and put them in an outside garbage can

Laundry Room:
1. Remove the lint from the lint filter in the dryer
2. Clear away any garbage
3. Empty garbage can
4. Clean the inside and the outside of the garbage can then add a new garbage
bag
5. Clean the outside of the washing machine and the dryer
6. Sweep the floor
All 4 Refrigerators & Freezers:
1. Clean the inside; the walls, shelves, drawers, the inside of the doors, the door
compartments, the floor (take out any drawers in the way), the seals/gaskets
of the doors, etc.
2. Discard any expired items
3. Wrap or bag any unwrapped items
4. Clean the outside of the refrigerators and freezers, and the handles
Bathrooms:
1st Floor 1. Clean the inside and outside of the sink, clean the faucet and knobs
2. Clean the shower floor, walls, soap holders, handle bars, faucet and knobs
2nd Fl. Full 3. Clean the inside and outside of the toilet bowl, and the top and bottom of the
Bathroom toilet seat
4. Clean the mirror with glass cleaner
2nd Fl. Half
5. Empty the garbage, clean the inside and outside of the garbage can then add
Bathroom a new garbage bag
6. Stock toilet paper and paper towels as needed
7. Clean any fingerprints off the door, clean the door knobs and the light switch
Garbage:
1. Bring the outside garbage cans to the curb on Sunday nights
2. Bring empty garbage cans from the curb to the driveway on Monday
mornings
3. Bring the outside garbage cans to the curb on Wednesday nights
4. Bring empty garbage cans from the curb to the driveway on Thursday
mornings
Recyclable Garbage:
1. Break down any cardboard boxes
2. Bring the recyclable garbage to the recyclables garbage cans
3. Clean the inside and the outside of the recyclables garbage can then add a
new garbage bag
4. Clean the walls near the recyclables garbage can
5. Bring the recyclable garbage to the curb on Monday nights
