Pay Rate:
 CR counselor pay rate (including overnight shifts) as of June, 2020: $15.38/hour
Benefits Eligibility:

Required Qualifications:
 Possession of a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record, currently and anticipated for the near and
far future
 Dependable transportation, currently and anticipated for the near and far future
 Confidence in passing a Background Check and Fingerprint Check
 Physically able to walk briskly, climb and descend stairs, lift at least 30 lbs. of weight
 Availability as needed for Haypath CR
 Proficiency in typing
 Experience in direct service with MH or DD clients
 Willingness to perform disgusting tasks such as cleaning up fecal matter, blood and plunging toilets
 Maintaining calm professionalism under verbal abuse by MH clients
 Not being late to work shifts and not frequently calling out from work (24/7 supervised housing; other
employees have other jobs to get to after their Haypath CR shifts)
 Persistence in trying to wake up extremely tired, resistant MH clients who need to take medications and
board transportation early in the morning
 Applying scrutiny when monitoring MH clients who self-administer their medications
 Managing time in the mornings when most of the residents have to be woken up, prompted to take
medications, prompted to prepare for the day and prompted to board transportation
 Deescalating verbal and occasionally violent altercations between hostile MH clients
 Position entails the forfeiture of any breaks including a meal break. You can bring food to work and order
take-out/delivery to work. There is downtime to relax. Are you willing to forfeit structured breaks?
 In case incoming staff cannot come to the upcoming shift, snowed-in, etc. Are you comfortable with the rare
need to have to stay an extra shift?
 No leaving the premises unattended by staff (24/7 supervised housing).
 Willing to work at all three CRs: Bethpage, Westbury, East Meadow?
 Familiar with Foothold?
