    Re: Senate Subpoenas

    Dear President Fann and Senator Farnsworth:

    The Board of Supervisors is in receipt of the subpoenas issued by Senate President Fann
    and Senator Farnsworth on December 15, 2020. Please see the Board of Supervisors attached
    response, a complaint filed this afternoon in superior court. During the past week, Maricopa
    County invested many hours and endeavored to cooperate as you sought information about the
    November 3, 2020 General Election in Maricopa County. This included voluntarily subjecting
    Chairman Clint Hickman, Elections Director Scott Jarrett and Civil Division Chief Tom Liddy to
    the Judicial Committee plus one’s questioning. Disappointingly, the Senate’s response was to
    issue these extraordinarily broad and improper subpoenas. As it is highly unlikely that the
    Senate and the Board will see eye to eye on resolution of the many areas of disagreement with
    respect to these subpoenas, the Board sees no other viable course other than seeking clarity from
    the court.
