    CASE OBJECTIVE

    Naresh Jain, Delhi-based tax consultant is looking for the apartment, as rental agreement
    with his landlord has come to an end. Therefore, he is under the dilemma of whether to buy
    the apartment or to take it on the rent.

    The purpose of the case analysis is to make a quantitative finance buy or rent decision in the
    light two aspects. First, current financial position of Naresh, by considering all the specific
    economic costs, opportunity costs and taxation benefits involved in renting and buying the
    apartment. Second, potential future benefits and losses in case Naresh decides to sell the
    property.
