Plastic Manufacturing.

D. Company Observation:
An alarming thing to note during our site visit and tour of the production
flow is the lack of implentation of safety measures such as wearing of face
masks while handling the powered raw material of the pipes and fittings.
Furthermore, scrap parts and various equipment were found to be in an
unorganized manner across the plant floor in some portions of the plant.
This could potentially lead to accidents in the workplace. However, the
safety concerns are the only gripe worth mentioning regarding the
company practices at Moldex Products Inc.

E. Reflections On A Specific Concept And Theory:

.On the other hand, the experience and variety of visiting a total of 8 plants
during the field trip offered the students a sneak peak into a wide variety of
possible job positions in the future, as well as the differing industries out
there. As budding Mechanical engineers, I believe it is important to
experience a first hand look at these industries. Some examples are: wire
making, waste management, automotive production, power generation as
well as many others.

2. LESSONS LEARNED:
These short yet valuable experiences helps us properly decide which line
of work we would want to pursue in the near future. Personally, I found
myself developing an interest towards the power generation facilities we
visited and could very well pursue a position in this industry in the future. A
realization that would not have occurred, had the opportunity of a field trip
not been presented.
