Informal Letter

An English-speaking friend is coming to study in your town next year and has written asking for
information and advice.

Write a letter to your friend, in your letter:

 Offer to find a place for him/her to live.

 Gove advice about how to find a part-time job.
 Give information on where they can learn your language.

Begin your letter as follows: “Dear…,”

You should write at least 150 words

Dear Chloe,

I was really delighted when I heard that you’re coming to study in Sofia for the next year. Before
everything, in my opinion, you should consider getting a place to stay, which I’d be glad to help. For
instance, I could ask some friends of mine who are lending their apartment because they’ve recently
relocated.

I believe I could assist you finding a part-time job by recommending you for a position in a local bar near
your college, I know the manager, or you could always look up some recruitment sites, such as jobs.bg,
zaplata.bg etc. Also, there is always the possibility of finding a job at your college, there’s plenty, which
you could find pinned on a board beside the main entrance of the building.

As you would guess it is better to brush up on your language skills. Therefore, it’s best that you are as
outgoing and friendly as you can or devote some of your time on taking part in an intensive learning
course, I know a few.

I am looking forward to your reply

Best Regards

Petar
