III. 1. There are two main sources of food, plants and animals.
2. Sprouting means soaking of seeds, draining the water, and then leaving them till they
germinate.
3. Calcium rich food is helpful in keeping our bones healthy.
4. By adding 1-2 spoon of curd in hot milk and keeping it undisturbed for 12-14 hours we
can make curd at home.
5. Herbivores: plant eating animals.
Carnivores: flesh eating animals.
Omnivores: both (plant and flesh) eating animals.

IV. 1. Plants are very important source of food as we eat different parts of
different plant.
Leaves- cabbage and lettuce.
Flower- banana and cauliflower.
Stem- ginger and potato.
Root- beetroot and carrot.
Seeds- cumin, sunflower etc.
2. Milk products are the products that we obtain from milk.
Curd- By adding 1-2 spoon of curd in hot milk and keeping it undisturbed for 12-
14 hours we can make curd at home.
Paneer- it can be obtained by adding 1-2 drops of lemon juice in hot milk.

4. Herbivores- cow, horse and goat have wide blunt teeth. Squirrels have broad
sharp-edged front teeth.
Carnivores- lion and tiger have sharp and pointed front teeth.
Omnivores- bear and human beings have different type of teeth for eating bot
plant and animal products.

5. Some birds and animals eat the flesh of other animal that are dead, these are
called scavengers. E.g. vulture.
Some organism feed on and degrade dead plants and animals, they are called
decomposers. E.g. fungi and bacteria.
