Preliminary Examination in Electrical Wiring System Design (Q206) (Print and Accomplish Manually)

Name: ______________________________ Date____________

I. Draw the complete lighting and power layout of the given floor plan below. Use and show in the floor
plan a two 3-way switch to control one lamp in two locations. Provide separate special outlet for Air Con
Unit Loads and cooking unit. Specify circuit number in the layout. Please see Test V for the additional
loadings

II. Draw the schematic and circuit diagram of the following: (Indicate the neutral or ground wire)

a.A single pole single throw switch controlling a lamp

b.Two Single Pole- Single Throw switches (2 gang) Controlling two lamps

c.Three Single pole-single throw switches (3 gang) Controlling three lamps

d.Two Three Way Switches controlling a lamp in two different location

e.A convenience outlet serving an appliance load

III. Define and illustrate or draw and label below the following electrical terms:

a.Service Drop

b.Service Entrance

c.Service Lateral

d.Service Equipment
IV. Draw and label below the Four Standard Service Drop Conductor minimum Vertical Clearances to
ground or final grade, where this conductor not in excess of 600 v nominal.
V) From Test I, provide and accomplish below the load schedule and Computation. The supply voltage is
two wire 240 volts, Line to Ground System. Draw the Riser Diagram. Compute Lighting Load to be 100
watts per outlet. Convenience or appliance load is 180 watts per outlet. 3-ACU at 1 HP each and 1
Cooking unit @ 2500 watts, 1 Water pump at 1.5 HP. For Main feeder computation, assume to apply
demand factor of 85%. Note 1 HP is 746 Watts (output power), Efficiency of a motor is the ratio of
Power Output over the Power Input. Assume Efficiency to be 90%. Use power input in the Computation
for Motor Loadings. Please no Copying…Good Lick.
