 Love and Misadventure

Every individual has their own experiences and journey of love, sorrow, regret and

finding love again after the pain. If a one person loves genuinely, it’s unending. Yes, in life it is

not all about love, laughter and happiness, there will always be a turning point that will test the

foundation of a person’s love to another. Thus, love will always be the weapon in surpassing

every obstacle in life. There might come a time that a person may feel worthless that triggers the

person not to believe in love anymore, but remember that love will always find its way. The

book Love and Misadventure is a collection of inspiring and heart-touching poetry that everyone

will surely be fond of because of its realistic stories.

Love and Misadventure is a story of love and pain, beginnings and ends, hope for love,

regrets over mistakes made, pain of being left and accepting that some things just have to end.

Love and Misadventure has three parts: Misadventure, The Circus of Sorrow and Love. In the

first part, it is a story on how the girl was unfortunate in her love to a certain person. There was

one line in the poem that will really touch a person’s heart. “Do you remember the song that was

playing the night we met? No, but I remember every song I have heard since you left.” (Lang

Leav, 2014) Just this line in the poem a person can feel how hurt the girl is. In the second part of

the story, it depicts how life can be a rollercoaster sometimes, one day you are feeling happy and

joyful but then in just a snap, you are hurting already. According to Mibba (2015), the second

part of the book was really a true to life story because it represents the different situations of

many people they are struggling. In the last part of the story, it is where people will find how the

girl find again her love and how it ended also. Yes, this story was not a happy ending but it only

tells to everyone that they should not expect anything and be brave enough to face and take what

it comes.
 When a person searches for a book about love and pain relatable to his/her ongoing

journey, Love and Misadventure can be one of the best books that is worth enough to read. Love

and Misadventure has many collections of poem that are happening in real life. It is like, the

Lang Leav, the author, can read the back of the mind of the people. One of the scenes in the book

that surely the reader can relate is, “Do you know what it s like, to lie in bed awake; with

thoughts to haunt you every night, of all your past mistakes. Knowing sleep will set it right – if

you were not to wake.” When an individual has a problem, it is hard to sleep at night because it

will keep running in the person’s mind that will lead him/her to over think and can also cause to

make impassive decisions or actions. It will be the last thing that a person will think before going

to sleep at night and will be the very first things that will cross in the person’s mind in the

morning. According to Catt (2015), Love and Misadventure is a guide in surpassing loneliness

and heartbreaks. Indeed, it can also be an component in learning because of its real to life stories

that everyone can relate to.

Love and Misadventure has also its own strengths and weaknesses. It is a book of poetry

that some people might not be fond of because most of them want to ready a narrative story

instead. Also, when a reader do not understand and read it well, it will be hard for him/her to

relate himself/herself because of the some twist in the story that might be a reason not to

understand the poem well. Love and Misadventure can be a complicated story also because some

parts of it are not connected to each other so it is recommended to read it carefully and deeply.

On the other hand, author’s poetic style in writing Love and Misadventure added the uniqueness

of the poem. The author also used imagery and metaphors that will make the reader understand it

easily and will avoid confusion in the reader’s mind. Compared to other poetic books, Love and
Misadventure is easier to understand because of the used words. The poem has also powerful and

beautiful words that can go deeply in the mind and heart of the reader

Love and Misadventure is a must-read book because a person can experiences many

emotions by just reading it. It will make a person cry, laugh, hope and dream. It a one book full

of stories and lessons in life. Love and Misadventure is a book of inspiration because of the great

and influential words that can make the people do the right thing. It is story that will make the

reader escape in the reality because of the scenes in the book that will make a person imagine

and be out from the reality. Furthermore, people will surely learn on how to surpass the pain and

sorrow that a person is feeling, it will give the person a lesson that will surely be a fundamental

in living life happily by taking chances and hoping for the worst. Love and Misadventure will

make people not be afraid in loving again after experiencing pain or waiting for the coming back

of a certain person in one’s life because they may not know, God already plotted their story; they

just have to wait for the right time.
