Identify the types of supporting details in the following paragraphs and give
reasons for your choices.

1. One way to overcome stress is to identify and remove the stressor. For
example, if you end up getting stressed every time you speak to a particular
person, it is obvious that this particular person is a stressor or the cause of
stress. So, what needs to be done is to avoid or reduce contact with this
particular person.

2. Money laundering is the process of creating the appearance that a large

amount of money, which is obtained illegally, originates from a legitimate
source.

3. World War 1 started when Francis Ferdinand was assassinated on the 28th of
June 1914 in Sarajevo. The war ended when the Treaty of Versailles was
signed by the Germans on the 11th of November 1918.

4. A study by Nicolaidou and Philippou (2003) showed that negative attitudes

towards mathematics are the results of frequent and repeated failures or
problems when dealing with mathematical tasks, and these negative attitudes
may become relatively permanent.
