Clipper Circuits
Clipper Circuits
Clipper circuits are a kind of circuits which can clip out a certain part of the AC
signal. In that sense, a half wave rectifier is a clipper circuit as it can clip out the
negative part of the input signal.
We know an AC signal consists of a positive half cycle and a negative half cycle.
Usually the clipper circuits are designed with a combination of AC and DC supply,
but the DC supply must be lower than the AC supply. To solve a clipper circuit one
must apply KVL around a loop. Clipper circuits are of two kinds: Series Clipper and
Parallel Clipper
