Activity No. 2: The Story of Teddy Stoddard, A Prelude to the Second Element of Teaching

The story about Teddy Stoddard reveals how the power of faith and support can make a
person be a better version of himself. As a future pedagogue, the story teaches me to be a
pillar of strength and a hero in a young person’s life. If a child is resistant and struggling, then
that is even more reason for me to go the extra mile in terms of caring, and of being
passionate to ensure he/she feels welcomed and safe, and can learn. Likewise, I should never
judge a student by the looks or the means but understand where he/she is coming from and the
much, help him/her achieve his set goals. Conclusively, the story reminds me that all of us can
be both students and teachers in our relationships with people and that we are constantly
learning as we move on through life.
