Strategic Public Relations (set 2)

Answer to the Question No. 1

Organizations began by using social media as a method for recruitment. But now businesses are
also recognizing the value of social media for internal contact. Communication practitioners are
also conscious that this method can also be used successfully to penetrate the inner audience.
Social media influencers do help to connect through geographies and introduce workers to the
same network from different regions. This will ensure that everyone gets the message in just
one press.
If any social media or activist do promote any particular brand or any organizations, the fan
followers or customers do watch the whole advertisement or promotion. Best example is
Foodpanda “Matha Noshto Hour” and Foodpanda “It’s all about food”, they are bringing up
different celebrity and making a show out of it by collaborating with different renowned
restaurant. In business perspective it’s a win win situation for both foodpanda app and
restaurant. The best strategy is Matha Noshto Hour, for one hour the social media influencer
comes live on Facebook and shares their experience of the food, on the other hand foods are
flat 50% discount of the restaurant. Then again win win situation for both.

Answer to the Question No. 2

Community relations strategy is a strategy which applies to the programs businesses use to
collaborate with their community and contribute to it. It has several types, depending on the
purpose and priorities of the organization as well as the needs of their respective communities.
For example, it aligns initiatives with your mission statement, thinking about your company's
intent, who its audience is and what matters to the individuals who buy your product or service.
It's not about giving the stuff away for free. In your culture, it's about communicating with
people. A well-planned strategy for community relations is for the good of everyone, no matter
the size of the organization. Good community relationships are vital to the success of your
company, from employee satisfaction to customer loyalty.
A fitness studio, for example, is in the health & wellness sector. An effective strategy for
community relations will be related to the maintenance of a balanced lifestyle. One choice is to
develop partnerships with local farmers and to provide access to fresh produce to your
members. You may also fund a youth sports team or hold a food drive to provide nutritious
food to homeless shelters.
Answer to the Question No. 3
Environmental scanning is the gathering of public records, public responses towards the
organization, and public sentiment on topics that are relevant to the organization. The
environment of an organization is highly complex in nature. It is still in flux, that is to say,
constantly evolving. That means that the company's future is still evolving as well. And by
environmental scanning, the company must remain close to its climate.
A business must have both a short-term and a long-term strategy. Only after proper study and
environmental scanning will the preparation of long-term targets take place. This will help the
entrepreneur prepare the business strategy needed. Social media is a medium that can directly
be used for environmental scanning by PR professionals. In itself, social media is an
environmental scanning tool that enables us to search and record relevant audience-related
information for free. For example, PR professionals may search for key words related to their
business or organization on Twitter to tap into discussions related to those topics. In an
example noted in the section of this project that analyzes two-way symmetric communication,
Starbucks demonstrated a way that an organization could both perform environmental
scanning research and interact symmetrically with its audiences.
