    Disk storage is a general category of storage mechanisms where data is recorded by various
    electronic, magnetic, optical, or mechanical changes to a surface layer of one or more rotating d
    disk.

    Types of Disk
    1:magnetic disk
    is the storage of data on a magnetized medium.

    2: optical disk
    Also called laser disk. a grooveless disk on which digital data, as text,
    music, or pictures, is stored as tiny pits in the surface and is read or
    replayed by a laser beam scanning the surface.
