RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

Every research can never be refined without proper operations or

procedures. This chapter discusses the research method, sources of data,

population of the study, research instrument, data gathering procedure, and

statistical tools from which researchers present useful information so that the

researchers will understand the study fully.

Research Method

The primary source of data which the researchers used was by the means

of questionnaires. Quantitative method was used wherein survey questionnaires

are used. The researchers will distribute the questionnaires to the respondents to

gather significant data needed for the research.

Sources of Data

Both primary and secondary sources are used in this research. The

survey and questionnaires conducted to the grade 10 student of Devine Word

College of Legazpi Junior High School Department are considered as the

primary sources while books thesis, the internet and other written works are the

secondary sources.

Both will probably help to accomplish what this research goal is.
Population of the Study

The researchers acknowledge the selected Grade 10 Student in Divine

Word College of Legazpi Junior High School Department as the study.

Data Gathering Procedure

 The data gathering process started immediately after the approval of the

title which is the “Sibling Rivalry as perceive by Grade 10 Studenst”. The

researchers will be observed with utmost confidentially. Researchers started

gathering data from secondary sources for the related literature both foreign and

local.

The validated survey questionnaire serves as the main tool in gathering

data. All gathered data from the respondents will be observed with utmost

confidentially.

After constructing the instruments, the researchers would first need to

ask for permission from the teacher or the person in charge of the respondents

before performing the gathering of data. When permission is granted, the

researchers would understand. After this, the researchers can now conduct the

gathering of data using the instruments made without having no worry about the

legitimacy of the answers of the respondent. The survey questionnaire are first to

be distributed to the respondents of each section. This way the data gathering

would be easier and quicker.

The researchers would first gather information from the secondary sources which

are the books, journals, and internet. The literature gather would also be use. After

gathering some of the data from the sources, the researchers would then construct the

primary sources which are the survey questionnaire. From the survey questionnaires, the

researchers could structure questions or get it from the internet.
