This paper communicates some findings of comparative studies on Metaphorical Pattern Analysis (MPA) in Persian and English for color GREEN
to answer questions such as: what connotative meanings GREEN as a color-term metaphor conveys in Persian and English, on the one hand,
and if there is any significant cultural difference between connotations of GREEN color in the languages concerned, on the other. To do so, a set
of English and Persian color-based metaphors, particularly those of GREEN color, were collected and analyzed by the researcher from different
sources including the work of Philip, Bolonga,2006; Allen,2008; Zhinquen Xing,2008; Lan, MacGregor,2009; and Persian Dictionary software and
literary works in Persian. As a color-based metaphor, GREEN appears to be more connotatively oriented in Persian than English. Most of these
connotations are semantically positive. There are remarkable specifications for using this color term as metaphor culturally.
