has grown to an average of 6%, highlighting the unusual importance of this cycle, primary school
enrollment has jumped from 53% to 94% over the period, reflecting an increase demand for basic
education and the fact that universal primary education became free and compulsory in 2003; Jr. High
school enrollment almost tripled. But in the midst this statistics, the reading, spelling and pronunciation
skills among others are still very low in our country.

esteem, self-awareness, confidence and personal integrity, encourage critical literacy and reflection,
inspire intercultural understanding by creating learning communities in which learners can increase their
understanding of language and culture deliberately design to help them become more globally engaged. .
The Project shall be carried out throughout the length and breadth of Liberia beginning with elementary
and Jr. High schools in and around the capital cities of the 15 counties of Liberia.
