Title: Half-wave Controlled Rectifier with Resistive Load

Objectives:
 Finding the Iak and Vak along with the Iout and Vout at different firing angles

Apparatus:
 Matlab
 Simulink

Theory:

Single Phase Half Wave Controlled Rectifier, as the name suggests, is a rectifier circuit which
converts AC input into DC output only for positive half cycle of the AC input supply. The word
“controlled” means that, we can change the starting point of load current by controlling the firing
angle of an SCR or a Thyristor.

Firing angle of the thyristor varies from 0 degrees to 180 degrees. Firing angle refers to the phase
angle of the ac supply voltage (sinusoidal) when the GATE current is applied and thyristor turns ON.
