A Look Into The World of "Parasite": Name: Program and Year
1. There was a scene where Moon-gwang, the housekeeper, is waking up Mrs. Park from
her sleep to inform her that the new tutor has arrived. What is the relevance of this scene?
How does it portray the matriarch of the Park family?
2. Min-hyuk, a friend of Ki-woo's and a university student, gives the family a scholar's rock,
which is meant to promise wealth to whoever possesses it. What role does it play in the
story?
3. What might be the reason/s why Moon-gwang’s husband, Geun-sae, seems to be
worshipping Mr. Park?
4. Compare and contrast the houses of the two families and relate it to the context of social
class.
5. At the end of the film, Ki-woo promised his father that he will earn enough money to buy
the house and free him from the underground bunker. Do you think he will be able to
fulfil his promise? Why or why not?
I think he can fullfill his promise because Ki-woo is vey intillegent it is not impossible
for him to became rich. Since He learned his lesson that if you want to be succesful you
need to work on it not because of a stone that brings luck. Now he had only one goal for
his life to buy that house. If he really want that he can get it. Even born poor no one can
hender if someone want to become succesful.
6. If you were given the chance to provide an alternate ending, how would you plan to end
it? I would like to end the story not a trajic one. The poor family will be caught by the
rich family and also the old house maid and his husband. The old house maid explained
everything including his husband, and how the poor family set up the driver and oldmaid
to make the owner fire him . Ki-woos also confess it to his girlfriend thats why the rich
family fired instanly the poor family. Even ki-woos and his girlfriend are sepparate now.
They still continue contacting each other. Until ki-woos girlfriend became pregnant and
at first the rich family was very angry but sooner and later they accept. They accept Ki-
woos and his family to be part of their family and they live happily ever after.
7. How will you relate the movie to Philippine society nowadays?
I will relate the movie the poor pilipino who was force to do something bad in order to earn
money. Drug Dealer, smuggler and many more. They want to earn money instantly and also the
money will disappear instanly. Since money its not made by hardwork. We can value something
if we work hard for it. To become succesful in life they are hardships but its better to take that
hardship that will help make us strong rather than doing bad for an easy success .Its not our fault
to be born poor but its its our fault to die poor.
