PIVOT EXTENSION BLOCKS

3 To facilitate removal/replacement of units at the rear of the receptacle assembly and also
gain access to the rear of the receptacle assembly, pivot extension blocks (Chap 1, Table 1,
item (10)) can be fitted to allow it to be opened through a larger angle. To fit the pivot
extension blocks, refer to the system handbook TP1339, Cat 5, Chap 4.

DRIVER AND RECEIVER SELF-CONTAINED UNITS

General
4 When removing or replacing units within the rack and receptacle assembly, the following
precautions should be observed:
4.1 Minimise the flexing of cables.
4.2 Ensure that potentiometers are not altered, as many are factory preset.
4.3 Use the appropriate torque spanner provided on all SMA and Type ‘N’ connectors.
SMA connectors should be torqued to 0.9 Nm. Type ‘N’ connectors (Unit K SKA
and SKB should be torqued to 3 Nm.

Removal and replacement

5 To remove a self-contained unit of the driver or recelver proceed as follows:
5.1 Disconnect all cables to the unit to be removed.
5.2 Remove the screws securing the unit within the rack/ receptacle assembly, then
withdraw the unit.
6 Replacement of a unit is the reverse of the removal procedure.
