The article states that the company benefits more when adding an option to employees that the five-day working employees can
work for four days and receive 80 percent of normal pay. However, the professor explains that offering a four-day workweek to
employees is not reasonable and refutes all three author’s reasons.
First, The reading claims that offering an extra option for working four-day raises the company benefits and as a result of this
offer is that employees would have fewer errors in their work and also the company can hire more staff for the same money,
which is used before offering. The professor rejects this point by saying that hiring more employees would be accompanied by
spending more money because new staffs need office space, computers, and also medical insurance.
Z

Secondly, the article posits that one of the benefits of the option is that the unemployment rate would be decreased. According
to the professor, in this situation the company would be forced to ask its employees to do the remained works since hiring new
a

staff is more costly. Therefore, no additional job would be available, yet the current jobs would be unpleasant for employees.
Finally, one result of offering a four-day option is that employees can spend much time with their families and improve their
b

life’s quality. The professor opposes this reason by mentioning that in this respect the employee jeopardizes his/her
situation. Some risks that would be the consequences of this option are decreasing their job ability and improvement and thus
a

they would lose their job because of insensitive economic status, the company would prefer to hire a five-day worker.

Universities and colleges are providing students with many extracurricular activities that can have a huge impact on students'
life. Few people see activities like sports and social works are not as important as classes and libraries and should not get equal
x

financial support. Nevertheless, from my standpoint, I agree with the following statement.
Firstly, sports have many crucial impacts on students' physique. Having good health is as well as important in his/her career.
a

For instance, some students may get scholarships for their superiority in sports, others can make these sports as their source of
living like football, basketball, etc. Social activities as well should receive great attention as well as financial support. Those
m

activities teach students how to be kind, friendly, and how to lose and stand up again.
Secondly, life isn't just about studying math science, and theories. Soft skills are well important too. Social work may teach
.c

students how to communicate with others, how to convince others to their work. And most important, how to grow up by the
team.
Thirdly, students find themselves when they have all facilities both educational and non-educational (hard skills and soft skills)
o

Moreover, students could find their hidden talent when they have and kinds of activities.
In summary, all activities are of great importance in life and they complete each other in a way that makes the personality
m

balanced just like a yin yang. That's why they should receive the same investment.
