UPRT - UPSET PREVENTION AND RECOVERY - PART 2

SO BACK IN 2009 ROYAL AERONAUTICAL SOCIETY TOOK AN INITIATIVE AND CONDUCTED


A CONFERENCE WITH ICAO ( INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION ORGANISATION ) TO DO A
DETAILED INVESTIGATION ON ( LOC-1) WITH THE HELP OF ALL THE CIVIL AVIATION BODIES
AND WORLD CLASS EXPERTS TO CREATE AN EXTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAMMME .
THIS WAS NAMED AS LOSS OF CONTROL AVOIDANE AND RECOVERY TRAINING..

FINALLY IN 2014 ICAO PUBLISHED THE UPRT MANUAL . SO THIS IS UPSET GENESIS.

NEXT IS PREVENTION WHICH CONSISTS OF TWO TERMS .


1. RECOGNITION 2. AVOIDANCE
WHICH MEANS YOU NEED TO RECOGNISE THE UPSET CONDITON OF AN AIRCRAFT AND TO
TAKE AN IMMEDIATE ACTION TO AVOID IT.

NEXT PART IS RECOVERY :-


MEANS IF AVOIDANCE IS NOT POSSIBLE OR SUCCESSFUL . THEN TO GET BACT TO THE NORMAL
PARAMETERS YOU NEED TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION AND FIGURE IT OUT .
SO THIS IS CALLED UPRT.
AND DGCA MADE IT MANDATORY FOR ALL PILOTS ON MARCH 01 , 2020 DURING THE
INITIAL TYPE RATING AND CONVERSION AND RECCURENT TRAINING .

THIS TRAINING IS DIVIDED INTO 2 PHASES


1. ACADEMIC :- THE PROPER KNOWLEDGE AND AWARENESS WILL BE PROVIDED OF ALL THE
FACTORS AND ELEMENTS .
1.AERODYNAMICS 6.FLIGHT PATH MANAGEMENT
2.CAUSES OF UPSET 7.RECOGNITION
3.SAFETY REVIEWS OF ALL INCIDENTS 8. SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS
4.G LOAD AWARENESS 9. UPSET PREVENTION
5.ENERGY MANAGEMENT 10. HUMAN ERRORS

AFTER THE CLASSES EXAM IS CONDUCTED ..


2. PRACTICAL :- SO NEXT YOU WILL BE REDIRECTED TOWARDS FFS ( FULL FLIGHT SIM ).
AND YOU WILL PRACTISE THE ABNORMAL SITUATIONS AND YOUR UPRT IS DONE

THIS TRAINING DURATION IS FROM 3 DAYS TO 3 WEEKS DEPENDING UPON THE PLACE
WHERE YOU ARE DOING IT.
