FG Wilson model PG620B1 gas generating set. Gross rated at 496 kW / 620 kVA at 0.8
pf. Voltage 400/230V, 3 Phase, Frequency 50 Hz, engine operating speed 1500 RPM.

Lean burn industrial natural gas, spark ignition, water cooled, 8 cylinder, four stroke
engine, controlled via Perkins, providing optimum control of the air/ gas mixture and
engine performances.
Core Engine
¾ High grade Cast iron featuring integral individual cylinder crankcase inspection
doors.
¾ Wet type liners, centrifugally cast (iron), plateau honed or quick ring bedding and
reduced oil consumption, individually replaceable
Single drop forged, precision ground steel crankshaft, surfaced hardened
and dynamically balanced.
Single camshaft, precision ground steel crankshaft, surfaced hardened (gas
carbonized), gear driven via crankshaft.
High grade cast iron individual cylinder heads, individually replaceable
valves, vale seats and valve guides – four valves per cylinder.

Cooling system:
The engine will be complete with tropical capacity radiator or cooling the machine in
tropical ambient temperatures with electric driven blower type heavy duty cooling fan.
Heat Exchanger or Radiator core and fin design will take into account compensation for
possible ingress of dirt which would normally clog the fins.

Alternator:
The alternator will be of brushless, self-exciting, self-regulating design
The alternator will be directly coupled to the engine and will include excitation system,
automatic voltage regulator
The excitation system will provide an exceptionally rapid response to load change and all
alternators are designed for high motor starting capability.
The fully sealed automatic voltage regulator maintains the voltage within the limits of ±
1.0% from no load to full load including cold to hot variations at any power factor
between 0.8 lagging and unity inclusive of a speed variation of 4.5%.
The alternator will be tropically insulated and windings will be impregnate with
thermosetting insulated varnish for use in tropical climates.
The rotor system is dynamically balanced to minimize vibration
Ample ventilation is provided by a shaft mounting centrifugal fan
A screen protected enclosure and drip-proof to IP23 is standard.
Coupling arrangement:
The engine and alternator will be directly coupled by means of an SAE flange so that
there is no possibility of misalignment being found after prolonged use. A flexible
coupling is used in all cases and the coupling is completely guarded for safety purposes.
The engine and alternator will be mounted as a whole on a heavy duty fabricated steel
base frame constructed from folded channel sections. Crane lifting arrangement is
included.
Finish
The generator is thoroughly cleaned and primed with two coats of industrial prime and
finished in two cats industrial high gloss paint.
