Course Title:

Special Crime Investigation

Course Description:

This subject is intended and part of the curriculum of Bachelor of


Science in Criminology students, covering theories and techniques of Criminal
Investigation on special cases such as robbery, homicide, carnapping cases etc.

Objective/s:
1. Help the students to pass their future Licensure Examination.
2. To let the students know/familiarize the coverage of the special crime
investigation.
3. To let the students Identify/apply the special techniques and procedures
in conducting investigation on special crime.
4. To describe/apply the best modern investigative techniques in
conducting crime scene search, sketch, and care of physical evidence.
5. Apply the proper collection, handling, documentation, and preservation of
all kinds of physical evidence
6. Assess the duties and responsibilities of the investigator at the
crime scene and evaluate the organizational chain of command
relative to the handling of investigators responsibilities including
the coordination of overlapping jurisdictions.
7. Identify physical evidence at the crime scene
8. Examine the chain of evidence process to ensure proper in-
court identification.
