Shut down of Aux.

Transformer-4 to attend Oil Leakage

Objective-We planned to take shutdown of Aux. Transformer-4 to attend the oil leakage of LT
bushing
Present load on Aux. Transformer-4:450 KW to 500 KW
Present load on Aux. Transformer-4:120 KW to 150 KW

Activities for shifting of load from Trafo-4 to Trafo-5

Duration-10-15 minutes
1. Synchronizing of both STG by closing both 11 KV Tie feeders.
2. Synchronizing of Aux transformer-4 &5.
3. Bus coupler taken in Line and Aux Transformer-4 LT breaker opened and isolate.
Activities to attend oil leakage
Duration-04-05 Hrs.
4. Manually open the Aux Transformer-4 HT Breaker and isolate.
5. Opening of Copper Jumper from Aluminum bus bar.
6. Opening of Palm Connectors.
7. Tightening of LT bushing of Aux Transformer-4.
8. Checking of Oil leakage after tightness work
9. Tightening of Palm connectors.
10. Tightening of Copper Jumper with Aluminum bus bar.
11. Box up of LT Terminal box.
12. Closing of 11 KV HT Breaker of Aux Transformer-4
Activities for shifting of load from Trafo-5 to Trafo-4
Duration-10-15 minutes
13. Synchronizing of both STG by closing both Tie feeders.
14. Synchronizing of Aux Transformer-4 & 5
15. Closing of Aux Transformer-4 LT Incomer breaker and Opening of Bus coupler
16. Desynchronizing of both STG by opening Tie Breakers.

Risk involved:
1. Tripping of 25 MW STG, in case of tripping of Aux transformer-5.
2. Breaking of porcelain bushing while tightening

Mitigation Plan:

1. Checking the healthiness of Tr 5 before changeover ( check list available with electrical team).
2. OEG senior team will monitor the performance of TR 5 during the activity.
3. In worst case if 25MW TG is tripped, senior Operation team will be available to save 30MW
Turbine.( SOP available in control room).
4. Proper precaution will be taken while tightening the bush.
