CHAPTER IV

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

This chapter includes project management aspects that are implied in the project.

This includes the cost and duration of the project, the scheduling of work involving the

sequence of activities, the leveling of manpower and the specification of the project. In

this chapter discusses the management aspect of the project which is divided into two

phases. This includes the cost estimate, construction management and project

specifications.

The order of the construction of the Phase I are: (a) Site Preparation, (b) Drainage

System, (c) Roadway Network, and (d) Water Tank. Moreover, in Phase II it includes the

Three-Storey Command and Administrative Building, Three-Storey Evacuation Center,

Medical and Health Care Center and the Storage Warehouse.

A. Phase I

1. Cost Estimates

Construction cost estimate is the process to determine the approximated

total cost of the proposed project through quantitative analysis. This section

includes the calculation of the quantity of construction materials needed for the

project, the number of workers needed to complete the work, the type and cost of

construction equipment, and the calculation of miscellaneous costs.

The Detailed Unit Price List (DUPA) of the Department of Public Works

and Highways (DPWH) were used as the reference of the cost estimate performed
