CPE 601 -MECHANICAL DESIGN OF PROCESS EQUIPMENT

IN CLASS EXERCISE
INSTRUCTIONS :-
1) In a group of 3/4 students, solve the following question
a) Question 3 and Question 4 – DEC 2014
b) Continue calculation with the skirt design.
2) You may refer to the formula given in the exam question/ your text book. The formula
given might be slightly different based on your references.
I will discuss this during class lecture next week 28/12/2020 -Monday

ASSIGNMENT 2
Assignment 2 will contribute 20% of your final marks. Kindly discuss and prepare the document
appropriately.
INSTRUCTIONS:-
With a same group as above.
Design a complete set of mechanical design of the pressure vessel given based on data
obtained IN CLASS EXCERCISE ABOVE.
This assignment shall be report in EXCEL file. In the EXCEL file all the formula, constant,
calculations, justification and answers should be clearly shown.
The report shall consists:-
a) 1st page – Name, student ID #, class
b) 2nd page – Calculations of head thickness, selection types of head and justification
c) 3rd page – Calculations of stress analysis & buckling, justification
d) 4th page – Design of skirt support and justification
e) 5th page – An AUTOCAD drawing of your equipment based on above mention
calculation, with correct scale & view.
f) 6th page -List of your references

Due date of this assignment is in 22nd January 2021 (Friday) before 5.00 PM
