The PR Wireline Nipple is a selective landing nipple that allow for the location and installation
of many flow control devices such as blanking plugs, bottom hole chokes etc. This nipple design
has three locking grooves and a seal bore which allow for the internal locking of flow control
devices. The design of the PR Wireline Nipple allows for many PR nipples to be run in the tub-
ing string. Pinnacle’s PR Wireline Nipple is available in a variety of material and thread combi-
nations.

The PRN Wireline Nipple is a bottom no-go landing nipple that allow for the location and
installation of many flow control devices such as blanking plugs, bottom hole chokes etc. This
nipple design has three locking grooves and a seal bore which allow for the internal locking of
the flow control devices. The bottom no-go shoulder provides the means to positively locate the
appropriate flow control device. Pinnacle’s PRN Wireline Nipple is available in a variety of
material and thread combinations.
Features
• Bottom no-go wireline nipple.
• Allows installation of various flow control devices.
• Locking groove, seal bore provides means to lock and seal various flow control equipment into
nipple.
• Bottom no-go acts as tool catcher, positive locator of nipple and flow control equipment.
• Available in a variety of materials.
• Available in a variety of threaded connections.
NOTE: The PR and PRN Wireline Nipples are designed for use in various heavy weight tubing
sizes. These nipples have more selection in seal bore sizes for various weights of tubing.
The addition of an extra load shoulder and smaller seal bore size make these nipples and
the matching wireline locks more robust and in most cases increase the pressure rating of
the wireline nipple/wireline blanking plug combination.
PL Sliding Sleeve
The PL Sliding Sleeve is a downhole device normally screwed on the production tubing that
allows communication between the tubing and casing. It is used to selectively produce zones in
multi-zone completions, stimulate and test zones, displace tubing or casing once the wellhead is
installed, kill the well by circulation and allows for the circulation of treatment chemicals or
agents. The shifting sleeve has bonded seals to ensure maximum seal integrity for extended
periods of time downhole. The PL Sliding Sleeve’s upper sub has a PF Wireline Profile machined
into it. The lower sub has a matching seal bore I.D. The PF Wireline Profile allows for the proper
shifting of the sleeve, and provides a profile to locate and lock into place various flow control
devices which may be required from time to time. Pinnacle’s PL sliding sleeve is available in a
variety of material, seal and thread combinations.
Operation
The PL Sliding Sleeve is shifted open using a PD-2 Shifting Tool. Upward jarring opens the
shifting sleeve and downward jarring closes it. The PL sliding sleeve is designed so that normal
wireline operations will not open or close it accidentally.
Features
• Allows communication between tubing and casing.
• Durable bonded seals.
• Upper sub has a PF wireline profile machined into it. The lower sub has a matching seal bore I.D.
• Compatible with industry standard wireline tools.
• Comes standard in shift up to open design.
• Available in a variety of materials and seal configurations.
• Available in a variety of threaded connections.
PL Sliding Sleeve
Operation
PFU-Series Sliding Sleeves can be opened or closed using an Otis® ‘B’ shifting tool and stan-
dard wireline and coiled tubing methods. The PFU Sliding Sleeve shifts up to open and down to
close, and the PFD Sliding Sleeve shifts down to open and up to close. The sliding sleeve is
assembled to form part of the tubing string. For a11 PFU/PFD Sliding Sleeves with ‘PX’, ‘PF’,
and ‘PR’ nipple profiles, separation tools and packoffs are available.
Equalizing pressure between the tubing and casing annulus is normally accomplished by
applying pressure or filling the tubing or casing with fluid. The sliding sleeve can also be opened
even if facilities for equalizing pressures beforehand are not available. This requires careful mon-
itoring of tubing and annulus pressures while slowly opening the sleeve until equalization.

• Available in a variety of materials and seal configurations.
• Available in a variety of threaded connections.
PXA Operation
The PXA Sliding Sleeve is shifted open using a ‘PB’ Shifting Tool. Upward jarring opens the
shifting sleeve and downward jarring closes it. The PXA Sliding Sleeve is designed so that nor-
mal wireline operations will not open or close it accidentally.
PXO Operation
The PXO Sliding Sleeve is shifted open using a ‘PB’ Shifting Tool. Downward jarring opens
the shifting sleeve and upward jarring closes it. The PXO Sliding Sleeve is designed so that nor-
mal wireline operations will not open or close it accidentally.
