I am writing to express my interest in a part-time employee position at

McDonalds, which was advertised by a friend who works there. I am currently a
student at Maxwell Heights Secondary School in Oshawa. I have been successful
with obtaining good grades this year by working hard on my studies. I want to work
hard and successfully complete tasks in a job. After hearing about this job several
times from friends, I have decided to take the opportunity to apply for this job so I
can put my skills from what I learned in the food industry and from life into
working hard for this position. I have always been interested in the food industry
and I thought working at McDonalds could be a great opportunity for me.

I have taken courses that can give me the skills that are required to be
successful in the food industry. Your position requires skill with food and serving,
which I have. I have had experience while volunteering. I was responsible for
sorting out inventory of food products, which I applied my problem solving skills to
complete this task with a quick and reliable manner. I talked with all the chefs’ one
on one to prepare menus. This position gave me lots of confidence and I was very
social, which I can provide for this job. I have taken courses like family studies,
which taught me about making food and being responsible. My courses and
volunteer experience has enhanced my organization skills and gave me the ability to
do my hardest at any task I am given, which I feel can be a great fit for this position.
I am an outgoing person, who is driven to do any work needed. I adapt to my
surroundings quickly and I have great skills in expressing myself verbally, making
me able to communicate to customers in a positive and effective way. I would love to
show my skills through the work I will be able to provide for your business

My work experience and education, along with my effective skills, makes me

a great candidate for the position at your business. An interview would be a great

—Highlights and Experience—

I am currently a student at Maxwell Heights in Oshawa. I have
successfully made the Honour Roll in my first semester of grade 10 and I am on
track with 90% average this semester to be successful in making the Honour Roll
again. I have gained some work experience with the help of family members to
obtain some volunteer hours doing some hands on work in a business setting
and I am looking to join a thriving team atmosphere where I can grow and learn
to develop new skills.
