THE IGTC ALUMNI TALKS

The year 2020 has been bizarre and transformational especially with regard to
global travel, social interactions and means of communication. As the year
progresses, people have started to realize that technology is the key factor that
holds all human beings as one.
The Indo German Chambers of Commerce inaugurated the very first edition of
The IGTC Alumni Talks on the 31st of August 2020. The Alumni Talks acted
as a platform for ex-students to share their experiences on how they have
excelled in their careers after leaving IGTC and also the impact of COVID on
their businesses. The event was attended by over 150 Ex-Students, Current
Students, Professors, and corporates from around the globe.
The event started with an address given by Mrs. Radhieka Mehta, Director Indo
German Training Centre. Her address was followed by a welcome address by
Mr. Bernhard Stieunrucke, The Director of IGCC. Mr. Stienrucke expressed his
opinions on how the world has become uncertain and how COVID 19 has
changed lives around different sectors of the economy.

Ms. Malini Pant was the first speaker of the evening. She was part of the very
first batch of PGPBA here at IGTC (1993). She is currently an Executive
Director at JP Morgan. She focussed on Business Resiliency and how it is
important to safeguard the interest of people and maintain decorum in working
operations. She also focussed on how industries were required to adapt to rapid
changes being caused due to this pandemic.

Mr. George Ettyil, from the 1998 batch, was the second speaker of the evening.
Mr. Ettyil is currently The Senior Director (South Asia) at Lufthansa Group. He
focused on Restarting Aviation under COVID 19. He expressed his opinion on
how COVID 19 has affected the aviation industry. He explained the advantages
and disadvantages of how the pandemic has turned the world around and how
the aviation industry is responding to this situation. He ended his talk by stating
that the aviation industry will bounce back in the year 2021.
The third speaker of the evening was Mr. Harsh Tewari who is currently the
Vice President of Engineering and technology at Fanatics Inc and was part of
the PGPBA Batch of 1999. Mr. Tewari focussed on how Fanatics became the
largest retailer in the field of Licensed Sports Merchandise and how is it coping
up in the current pandemic situation. He also talked about the upcoming
opportunities in the world of Sports Licensing and how Fanatics has achieved
immense success in this field.

The final speaker of the evening was Mrs. Madhu Vazirani who is currently The
Principal Director of Accenture and was part of the PGBA batch of 1994. Mrs.
Vazirani focussed on the Mindful well-being of humans and why was it
important for people to have a calm mind and be stress-free. She expressed her
views on how the pandemic has caused a lot of stress in the surroundings and
why is it important to take a break and recollect our thoughts. She introduced a
5-minute meditation exercise on Mindfulness. She explained that giving the
brain 10-15 minutes a day is important for human beings so that their
productivity level increases.

The event was concluded by a virtual question and answer session and a vote of
thanks from Ms. Radhieka Mehta.
