CONTENT
Effective Communication Skills

CONTENT STANDARD
The learner understands the nature and elements of oral communication in context.

CONTENT PERFORMANCE
The learner designs and performs effective controlled and uncontrolled oral communication activities
based on context.

LEARNING COMPETENCIES
The learner uses various strategies in order to avoid communication breakdown

I. OBJECTIVES
 Identify the barriers in communication breakdown in
each situation;
 Appreciate the use of different strategies in order to
avoid communication breakdown.

II. SUBJECT- MATTER


Topic: Strategies to avoid Communication Breakdown
Reference: CG, TG, Reference Books
Materials: Internet, Laptop, Smart phones

III. PROCEDURE

Activity
The teacher asks the students about their own understanding of communication and its
importance. They are also instructed to read the ‘UNDERSTAND’ part of the modules given
and answer the SAQ part.

Analysis
The teacher presents scenarios where there are problems in communicating. Students are
to identify the barriers or problems that caused communication breakdown.

Abstraction
The teacher asks the students to give the main points of the lesson which are found at the
‘REMEMBER’ part of the module.

Application
The students are tasked to answer the ‘TRY’ part of the module.
IV. EVALUATION
Application serves as an evaluation.

V. AGREEMENT
The teacher gives additional reminders to students regarding the submission of the
modules.
