Stressmanagement is the need of industry. The word stress is defined in the Oxford Dictionary
as, “a state of affairinvolving demand on physical or mental energy”. A co
ndition or circumstance (not always adverse), which candisturb the normal physiological and
psychological functioning of an individual. In medical parlance, stress isdefined as a perturbation
of the body`s homeostasis. This demand on mind-body occurs when it tries to copewith incessant
changes in life.
Yoga plays an important role in stress management in hotel industry. In Sanskrit the term
Yoga isderived from the two roots one is “Yujir” which means to join, to combine. So yoga
is meant for union whe
rethe body, senses, organs of action, unite with the mind and mind unites with the intelligence,
intelligence withthe consciousness; consciousness with the soul. Yoga is a very important
therapy in coping up stress. As yoga isthe answer for healing stress among working men and
women. There are other strategies, which are very helpfulin stress management in an

Stress free work life can make an individual productive and constructive, it„s always best to keep
busy, to plow anger and energy into something positive. Positive attitude and meditation will be
helpful forreducing the stress. De-stressed, healthy, happy, focused and alert employees have a
higher productivity thenthose which are stressed out, fighting fatigue and have body pain. Stress
management play crucial role inimproving mental health of the employees which leads to attain
the various goals of the organization. Thefurther research will surely be helpful to unleash the
various techniques to minimize the stress so as to enrich theharmony and stability among the
human beings.
