Idea Pitch

A business idea pitch explains a business idea clearly and briefly. Nowadays, the engineering
graduates prepare a business idea pitch and present it to the investors in business meetings or
to the employers in job interviews.
Let's know the major components of a business idea pitch:-

1. Idea proposition - A pitch starts with the idea proposition which is a simple and easy
description of the main business plan. It describes
• the type of the product or the service
• One or two specific practical problems that people are suffering from which the product
or the service can solve
• The solution

Example:- Best Bicycle Delivery Service presents a very exciting opportunity in my area with
busy people. Best Bicycle will give customers faster delivery of all kinds of items from food to
important documents at a cheaper price than the other existing competitions.

2. Market and target people - Include the following information :-

• The area where the product or the service will be available
• The target customers
• What benefits the customers will get from the product or the service
• The price of the product or the service

3. Competition- include the following information:-

• The other similar products or services that exist in the market now
• Why your product/solution is better than them

4. Sales and Marketing- include the following information

• How you will promote the product or the service to inform people about it

Task - Prepare a business idea pitch for AIUB students as target customers and present it in two
minutes.
Your pitch should have idea proposition, market and target people, competition, sales and
marketing.
