2) Analysis per cow and calf: In total 6 time points

• 5 bovine serum samples (4 time points [cow], 1 time point [calf]) and
• 1 colostrum sample

• We would need between 1 and 1,5 ml (e.g. in Eppendorf tubes) of the serum and
colostrum samples.

3) Costs of sample investigations

• Costs per specific antibody investigation: 5,60 €

We calculated for the investigations of bovine sera and colostrum the same amount
although the colostrum samples might require more efforts compared with the sera.

• Costs include work force, laboratory equipment, disposables, BioX-ELISA Kits and sample
storage
• Costs do not include value added tax

• Antibody level against (i) rotavirus,

(ii) coronavirus and (iii) E. coli per sample: 16,80 €

Measurement examples of 130 to 150 cows and calves

(6 times points) for antibody levels
against rotavirus, coronavirus and E. coli:
- 130 animals (130 x 16,80 x 6): 13.104,- €
- 150 animals (150 x 16,80 x 6): 15.120,- €

4) Administrative costs

• Data interpretation, study report, administration 1.250,- €

5) Possible costs

• Scientific meeting at Virbac/France (if you agree)
