Assignment 1 1. What Are The RADAR System Constants?: Functions
Assignment 1 1. What Are The RADAR System Constants?: Functions
Functions:
Power Supply – represented as a single block. It furnishes all
AC and DC voltages necessary for the operation of the
system components.
Modulator – to insure that all circuits connected with the
radar system operate in a definite time relationship with each
other and that the time interval between pulses is of the
proper length.
Transmitter - basically an oscillator which generates radio-
frequency energy in the form of short powerful pulses as a
result of being turned on and off by the triggering signals
from the modulator.
Antenna System – to take the r-f energy from the
transmitter, radiate this energy in a highly directional beam,
receive any echoes or reflections of transmitted pulses from
targets and pass these echoes to the receiver.
Receiver – amplifies the weak radio-frequency pulses
returned by a target and reproduces them as video pulses
passed to the indicator.
Indicator – produces a visual indication of the echo pulses in
a manner that furnishes the desired information.
