Core Subject Title: Safety and First Aid

Core Subject Description: This course will equip learners with life skills and competencies in safety, injury
prevention and management in various sports and exercise settings for prompt and proper response during
emergencies. It will lead to a certification from the Philippine Red Cross.

Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of safety, injury prevention and management in sports, exercise
and recreational settings for prompt and proper response during emergencies.

Performance Standard: The learner demonstrates safety practices consistently in sports, exercise and recreational
activities.

1st Quarter Performance Task

The school administrators want all the different offices to come up with a risk assessment. As the Director for Physical
Education and Athletics, you were tasked to come up with a risk assessment in the following areas: Exercise, Sport and
Recreation. The risk assessment should contain all of the following: Hazard risk/type, Description, Likelihood,
Severity, and Elimination or control measures, which include who is in-charge and when should it be implemented.

2nd Quarter Performance Task

Part of your responsibility as a Physical Education teacher is to develop a comprehensive emergency action plan for the
school that involves all personnel. Your task is to identify the different committees that will respond to emergencies
(example: Information, Medical response, Evacuation, etc.); the personnel in-charge and their specific responsibilities.
The emergency plan also includes the tasks in the phases of response to a disaster.
