Precautions For Safety During Servicing: 1 Washing Machine
1 WASHING MACHINE
2. TECHNICAL POINTS
2-1 Overview of the Control Panel
2) Each time you press the key whilst in valid operation, it gives a beep sound for each key-in but it does not
perform any corresponding action.
3) When you press START/HOLD key and change the course while the selected course is valid and in normal
operation, the course selected at last resets the current settings as its default initial values even if you
adjusted the number of rinse times by using the Function key.
4) When the selected course is valid and in normal operation, pressing any key is valid except for the Course
Selection key. But in case of spin process, only the START/HOLD key and the Power key are valid.
5) Weight sensing feature is available only for Fuzzy, Heavy Duty, Econo Wash, Soak , Delay Start, Drip Dry
courses of Automatic process, and Wash, Wash+Rinse, Rinse, Rinse+Spin courses of Manual process.
Following is the initial water level of other courses for each key-in.
¥ Blanket: High ¥ Wool: Low
7) When the key is valid and in normal operation, pressing a manual key can update the corresponding
function. But it skips Process OFF.
In the Fuzzy course right after initial Power ON, manual key-in performs a independent manual fuction.
8) While a selected course is in operation or during the START/HOLD mode, each pressing of Manual/More
Rinse key shows the number of rinse times as in the order below.
9) When you select Fuzzy, Heavy Duty, Econo Wash or Soak, Delay Start, Drip Dry it performs full automatic
processing.
But in case of Wash, Wash+Rinse, Rinse, Rinse+Spin of Manual function, it follows the designated
settings for each process.
10) When the selected course starts operating, the LED indicator of the selected course blinks ON/OFF by
1 second interval and turns ON if Pause key is pressed.
1) The LED of each Wash, Rinse, and Spin of Manual Course blinks ON/OFF by 1 second interval
according to the procedure of each course. In case of Wash mode, only the Wash LED blinks ON/OFF
by 1 second interval, and the other LEDs stay turned ON. When in a Rinse mode, Wash LED turns
OFF, Rinse LED blinks ON/OFF and Spin LED stays ON.
When in a Spin mode, Spin LED blinks ON/OFF by 1 sec interval and the Wash and Rinse LEDs are
turned OFF.

Soak à Delay start à Drip dry à Wash à Rinse à Spin à Wash+Rinse à Rinse+Spin à Initial status
3) Process is performed times by default, but you can add Rinse times while a selected course is in
operation, and the rinse mode goes on based on the selected number of rinse times.
5) When you entered Start key or Water Level key that has been turned OFF by Manual key, it is reset to
initial status of Fuzzy mode. In case of Start key, it starts weight sensing (but it may be operating
differently when a water level is selected.), and in case of Water Level key it displays the Med. High
setting value of Fuzzy mode.
2) Pressing the key shows selectable options in the order as the following.
3) If you select a water supply by using the Water Supply key, the selected water supply setting remains
valid even if you changed a course after. If you switch to the Wool course, Cold Water is automatically
selected, but the previous setting is restored if you switch to other course.
4) While water is being supplied, the corresponding Water Supply lamp flashes ON/OFF by 1 second
interval.
5) The Water Supply setting selected initially for washing can be changed while a process is in operation and
is immediately applied at the moment of key-in.
If you change the Water Supply setting whilst in a Rinsing process, the new setting becomes valid until
the process is completed and that is also applicable to the case of Water Plus.
1) Pressing the Start/Pause key toggles between Start and Pause as the following.
Start à Hold
Water Supply Water Supply val. 2 sec Delay time is 10 sec for dispersing 1
MR. ML
MOTOR
(Including MOTOR
(ML)
1) The Water Level key is always valid except for Error cases.
v Error: Water Level Sensor, Water Supply Error, Drain Error
2) Pressing the Water Level key shows the options in the order as below.
5) When you selected a water level, pressed Pause key, and changed a course to Blanket or Wool , the
Blanket course is automatically set to High level if the water level is under Medium but it remains the
previous setting if the water level is Medium or above, and the Wool course is automatically set to High
level if the water level is under Low. Low but it remains the previous setting if the water level is Med. Low
or above.
6) If Water Level is changed by pressing the Water Level key before Motor starts rotating, the water
supplying time also is changed according to the selected water level so the remaining time is re-
calculated.
7) In the Fuzzy course, after the initial data is displayed, pressing the Water Level key re-displays the
remaining time according to the selected water level.
But if you enter Start key without setting a water level at the initial status of Fuzzy course, the initial data
is still displayed until the weight sensing is completed.

2. TECHNICAL POINTS
2-3 Main Functions
2-3-1 Washing
1. Water Supply
1) The water supply function of each process opens the corresponding water valve ON until the selected
water level is fulfilled.
3) If the water supply is not completed yet after the standard time allocated for water supplying has passed,
the remaining time does not count down any more.
4) If the water supply is already completed before the standard time allocated for water supplying has
passed, the remaining time counts down as much as the standard time and then proceed to next step.
5) If the water supply is not completed even after 60 minutes has passed, Water Supply Error function is
performed. (Including the water supply or re-supply for the purpose of clearing Unbalance.)
6) If a Water Level key is entered again after the water supply is all finished, and if the newly set level is
higher than the current level, then the water supply process is performed again, and the Motor is turned
OFF and the remaining time does not count down during water supply.
2. Soak Function
1) The soak course is performed only when it is selected by pressing the Soak key.
2) If the water is supplied up to the selected water level, soaking is repeatedly performed by 5 minutes
interval for total 30 minutes. (Motor rotates for 1 min and stops for 4 min.)
3) If the water level is changed to a higher level while soaking is in operation, it stops soaking and starts
water supply, and then resume the soaking process.
4) Once the soaking is stopped and resumed again for any reason such as changed water level or Pause
and Re-start, the ongoing settings are still valid starting the soaking process from the breakpoint.
5) During the soaking process, the selected Soak LED flashes ON/OFF by 1 second interval.
5. Wash Function
1) Water Plus is performed if the current water falls short of the selected water level by sensing the water
level setting, washing for 2 min and 9 min, turning the Motor OFF, then reading the water level frequency,
and the washing process goes on after proper water supply. The time for Water Plus does not exceed
Max. 1 minute.
v In case of Rinse, Water Plus is also performed 1 minute later.
2) Water Current Table per Water Level, Course and Washing Process of a selected washing.
(Refer to Attachment.)
3) The water supply function does for 2min, 9min in all courses and all water levels, and
the Rinse function starts after 1 min. Time Out is after 30 seconds.
4) If the water supply function is performed twice in one course, it is regarded as if water supply function is
completely done however time setting is changed.
5) If the water supply function is performed once and then the washing time is changed,
it is performed one more time in the changed settings.
2) After starting the drain function, the remaining time starts counting down until the standard drain time
elapses, and stops counting down thereafter.
If the drain function is completed, it is regarded as the standard drain time is finished.
Water Level High Medium Low Extra Low
3) If the water level is still higher than Reset when 5 min has passed after drain function is started, it
performs Drain Error function. Buzzer beeps 5 times and then enters the Pause mode.
4) If the Start key is pressed in the above item 3), the Error status is cleared and
Time Out is reset to 15 min again and then drain function resumes.
2. Intermittent Spinning
1) Opening the door while the Intermittent Spin is in operation stops spinning and generates Door Open
Alarm (Door Open Melody 5 times).
2) If the door is closed while the Door Open Alarm is ongoing, the alarm status is terminated and
proceeds to the next step in as identical order as in Start/Hold key-in.
3) If the Satefy S/W is sensed as Unbalance during the Intermittent Spinning cycle,
it performs Unbalance Clear function.
a. Unbalance Sensing Function
- S/W Sensing Time
UNBALANCE : 20-700ms, Door Open : 701ms or more
- Immediately on detecting the 20mS the driving compartment turns OFF when Door is opened.
If the Door is closed while the Door Open Alarm is undergoing, the alarm status becomes invalid and
the drain valve turns ON min. 10 seconds after OFF, and MOTOR resumes 10 seconds
after the drain valve turns ON.
b. Unbalance Clear Function
- If Unbalance is sensed, it immediately performs ML OFF and Drain Valve OFF and then starts water
supply after 10 seconds.
- Water Supply à Rinse function (1min, Release Current) is performed.
- At the initial operation of this function, [Standard Time of Water Supply+1 min] is added to the
remaining time of the corresponding process.
- After performing the Unbalance Clear Function, it resumes starting from the initial process (Drain).
- If the water level is changed to a higher level while the Unbalance Clear Function is in operation,
Motor stops rotating and performs water supply for a selected level and then resumes the
Unbalance Clear function for the remaining time.
7 WASHING MACHINE
1. TECHNICAL POINTS
c. If UNBALANCE error has occurred, it performs clearing function up to 2nd time of error and alarms
UNBALANCE ERROR for 3rd error or later. If error happens, open the door and then close it in order to
get the corresponding process resumed starting from the initial process(Drain).
v If UNB. ERROR is detected for 3 times or more, it checks Door status after 2 seconds.
(Except for spinning as a single course)
d. When UNBALANCE error has occurred during spinning as a single course, it performs error clearing
function once and then alarms UNBALANCE ERROR if the error persists.
e. Display flashes ÔUEÕ by 1 second interval and generates ERROR MELODY 5 times.
3. Spin Function
1) The Spin function allows the Washing Motor to rotate to the left and to maintain the Drain Valve opened
for the whole spinning time.
3) The spin time after washing, the spin time after rinsing, last spinning time are based on the Time Chart.
4. Pause Function
1) The Pause function turns ML OFF for 1 min and 30 seconds and turns the Drain Valve ON continuously.
2) If the Door is opened while the Pause function is in operation during the Rinse cycle,
it gives Door Open Error and resumes processing after Door is closed.
3) If the door is opened while the Pause function is in operation during the Spin cycle, it exits the Spin
function.
5. Water Supply
1) Identical as the Water Supply function of Wash process
6. Rinse Function
1) If a selected water level is fulfilled, the Rinse function is performed.
3) Water Current Table per Water Level and per Course (Refer to attachment.)
2) In case of Wool course, spinning is intermittently operated for 10 seconds and stops for 5 seconds.
2) While the Exit function is in operation, it gives End Melody and turns all the driving compartment.
pThe display shows Ò00Ó ON/OFF by 1 second interval.
4. Drain ERROR
1) When the water level does not fall under Reset level after 15 min has passed since starting to drain.
2) Generates ERROR MELODY 5 times.
3) DISPLAY : E 0.5 sec. ON/OFF
4) How to Clear : Press Start/Hold Key to clear the Error status and to resume Water Drain.
