1 Introduction
1.1 Positioning
GPX147-B series products are one kind of wall-mounted optical fiber distribution box, which
is used indoors. It is used in the FTTx-ODN or the traditional optical transport network and
accomplishs the connection, termination and distribution of optical fibers.
1.2 Benefits
z The GPX147-B is small in volume and light in weight with the wall-mounted
installation.
z The box is divided into two parts and has a clear function division: the left part is used
for connecting of optical fibers, the right part is used for the termination of the optical
fiber.
z Provision of fiber splicing, redundant fiber storage, connection, dispatching and straight
through.
z Reliable fiber fixation and grounding protection function.
z Standard 12-fiber splicing tray can be taken out for splicing operation; if more capacity
is required, just superpose splicing tray according to the requirement.
z Flexible in/out of cable and optical cables can be led in and out from the top of the box
or the bottom of the box.
z Various adapters such as FC and SC can be installed with a slope of 35o, so the operation
is convenient.
z Clear schematic diagram of optical fiber connection and dispatching is available in the
box.

2 Product Introduction
GPX147-B series optical fiber distribution box includes GPX147-B1, GPX147-B2,

GPX147-B3, GPX147-B4. The products with different specifications supply consumers more
choices and make the choices more flexible.
The specifications of GPX147-B series optical fiber distribution box are shown in Table 2-1.

2.1 Exterior
The GPX147-B1 and GPX147-B2 have single swing doors, but the GPX147-B3 and
GPX147-B4 have double swing doors, shown in Figure 2-1.

The exterior of the GPX147-B2 is similar to the GPX147-B1, please see Figure 2-1.
2.2 Structure
Figure 2-2 shows the structure of the GPX147-B.

z The structure of the GPX147-B1 is similar to the GPX147-B2, please see Figure 2-2.
z The difference of GPX147-B3/B4 and GPX147-B2 on the structure is that the GPX147-B2 does not
have a optical post on the right part, but the GPX147-B3/B4 have optical posts on the right parts.

2.3 Function
The GPX147-B mainly realizes the function of splicing and distribution of the optical fiber.
The input optical cable is led in from the left part of the box and the fibers are spliced with the
pigtails in the splicing trays. The patch cords are led in from the right part of the box and are
connected to the ports of the adapters and realizes the function of distribution.
Table 2-2 shows the functions of the GPX147-B.

Support the leading-in and leading-out of the z The optical cable can be led in and led out from the top
optical cable (≤ 20 mm for the diameter) of the box or the bottom of the box. You can select the
route easily.
z The GPX147-B1/B2/B3/B4 supply 4, 4, 10, 12 holes
respectively.
Support the splicing of the fibers z Each splicing tray can splice 12 fibers.
Support the installation of the FC adapters and the z You can choose the adapters according to your custom.
SC adapters
Supply the function of distribution z The number of the distribution ports is same to the
capacity for splicing.

3 Application Scenario
The GPX147-B is mainly used in the remote office with small-capacity. It usually be installed
on the wall of corridor, weak-current well and distribution room. Figure 3-1 shows the
position of the GPX147-B in the FTTH-ODN network.

7 Appendix: Note of the application
The GPX147-B is mainly used in the remote office with small-capacity and accomplishs the
connection, termination and distribution of optical fibers. However, It also can be used on the
accsess point of the FTTx-ODN network to connect the distribution optical cable and the drop
cable. Figure 7-1 shows the application of the GPX147-B on the access point.

z The drop cables (flat) can be leaded into the GPX147-B and all the drop cables (flat) should be fixed
together.
z By default, the GPX147-B is not recommended to be used on the access point of the FTTx-ODN
network.
