Low Brass Plan

1. Warm up
Long tones using Nicola Ferro Warm up
F - D Chromatically in whole notes - Half Notes - Quarter Notes
We will be using the drone in the warm up to wake up our ears and match pitch.

2. Remmingtons
Middle F Study
Low Bb Study
Extended Low Bb Study
Extended F Study
This exercise will focus both on Start Sustain Release and note recognition.
We will make sure that we are getting the correct notes. I will be asking a few volunteers to play
certain measures to make sure we are fingering the correct note and
starting-sustaining-releasing the note properly.

3. Lip Slurs Using Nicola Ferro Slurs video.

We Will only do the first 8 measures.
This exercise will work our flexibility in different positions/fingerings.
I will be asking a few volunteers to play certain measures to make sure they are properly
slurring. Students will want to tongue certain notes instead of slurring them.

4. Rhythm Chart #6 (Eighth notes)

We will be going over a few measures of rhythms in efforts to develop both sightreading skills
and tonguing skills.
Students will want to rush 8th notes.

5. Scales Db and review

We will be going over Db scale and make sure students are playing in the right key.

6. Christmas Music Angels on Parade

We will go over the music the students will be recording for their upcoming playing assignment.
