EXEMPLARY LITERARY FOCUS


Lualhati Bautista has been known because of her works which is often centered on
strong ideas of realism and compelling female protagonists. One of her most
notable books and eventually turned into a movie is Dekada 70’. It follows a
normal Filipino family while they try to live through president Marcos’ Martial
Law. Another movie that was written by Lualhati Bautista is “Bata Bata Pano ka
Ginawa” which is a story which shows how a society expects so much from a
mother. Lualhati Bautista also won several Palanca Awards which are true proofs
of her great work as a writer.
