How my brother leon brought home his wife

It is an early age of Philippine industrialization in which there is a contrast worldview of urban and rural
area. The typical Filipino from that time always introduced their wife or even girlfriends to their parents
specifically the most respected person in the family and that is the father. As the father is the padre de
pamilya, knowing the wife was a must. We can see how leon’s brother smell the fragrance of leon’s wife
was astonished in his perspective. A really typical Filipino in this age who recognize the physical extras of
the urban person. The story tells how they interact, the perspective of theirs gives me information on
what is the linguistic of a typical Filipino.

The gift of the Magi

The gift of the magi is about the 2 couples jim and della who are willing to give their love each other.
When christmass came, both of them knew what each other wants for christmass. Because of lack of
money, they have 2 valuable possesions that they sold to give each other a material gift that they’ve
wanted . After that they have known that the gift was useless for its purpose because the purpose was
sold. But then, they have thought that the greates gift is the willingness and giving value to the effort of
each love they give.

The gift of magi is a classical literature which it has irony. Both of them are willing to give a materal
happiness for christmass time, which most of us do. But the story has a twist. The purpose of the
material was being sold and the remaining purpose of it is about the true meaning of willingness to give
appreciate all done by love to each other’s hearts
