Village at Nemont Manor

Although Jean Goldberg now resides at
Valley View Home (you may remember
a photo of her in the Buzz doing some
gardening this past summer) her Christmas
Village tradition of 16 years at Nemont
Manor can still be found there. Pamela
Bicker has taken on the task for the past
two years and had two elves helping out
— Michelle Meland and Diana Swisher.
“Due to the size of the Village it takes two-
to-three days to set it up and another day to
make adjustments to get it just right,” says
Pamela. It will remain set up through this
weekend if you’d like to take a gander.

Defund the Police?
You Betcha! Here’s
Why.....NOT
In July of 2020 Law Enforcement people from nine
major US cities said enough is less than adequate and
started-up Operation Legend in honor of slain LeGend
Talifero of Kansas City, Mo. He was a four-year old lad
asleep in his own bed when he was killed by a stray bullet
fired during a crime.
Such a tragic loss.
That’s why the cops in Kansas City, Chicago,
Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Albuquerque, Detroit, St. Louis,
Cleveland, and Memphis banded together to go out and
fight crime! No matter that in most of those cities the
infamous “Defund Police” is the rallying cry and cops are
not liked.
Outgoing US Attorney General Bill Barr issued a
press release saying Operation Legend was a resounding
success resulting on more than 6,000 arrests, 1,600 of those
arrested under federal crimes.”
So those cop-haters can sleep more soundly tonight
and in the future because this operation, operated by police
men and women, made 467 homicide arrests, seized more
than 2,600 illegal firearms, seized more than 30 kilos of
heroin, 17 kilos of fentanyl, 300 kilos of Methamphetamine,
and more than 135 kilos of cocaine (which was once an
ingredient in Coca Cola BTW!).
They could have left themselves wide open for law
suits though because they confiscated more that $11
million in drug money proceeds and other nefarious
activities leaving those druggies without funds to hire
lawyers or make bond. I’m sure there will be a complaint
or two and some hop-head telling the cops that the suitcase
full of US bills of all denominations found under the spare
tire in the trunk of his stolen car was his grandmothers and

Anyway I just thought you would be interested in
this just in case folks put pressure on you to defund Sheriff
Tom Boyer and his deputies and the Glasgow Police
Department. To that I would just say......ARE YOU NUTS?
Just to fill up some space after that diatribe I would
like someone to banish politics from professional and
college sports on TV. If I see one more BLM on a uniform
or on the field or court I’ll toss a horseshoe through my
Sony 42” TV....Bad TV...Bad TV! Shame.
And this just in: some folks are stupid enough to go
out and apply for the Visa Chime card which allows you
to get their paycheck up to two days early! Wow! What a
deal, instead of getting your bi-weekly paycheck on Friday
it goes into you account on, maybe Wednesday so you can
gloat over it to your cow-orkers (that is not a typo). Let me
understand this....you think you’re getting it early when in
actuality you’re not.. You’re paying a fee that makes you
numb with delight thinking it’s two days early. It’s still two
weeks since you got your last paycheck, still 14 days. You
are just beating others to the punch. It is worth it? Cut the
blanket off on one end and sew it on the other?? Daylight
savings time?
Folks have been telling us to “cough into your elbow”
right? Now they’re telling us not to do high-fives. Just touch
elbows! Riiiiggght!
Has the mandatory masking of America increased
armed robberies? Used to be only the Lone Ranger wore
a mask in public and you recall the trouble it caused him
sometimes. Now with everyone required to wear masks
to hide their identity has crime gone up? Sure it has. Now
revert to the “ARE YOU NUTS” quotation above.
