There are two reasons why it is important to study and learn about the life and the works of Dr. Jose Rizal. First, because it is mandated by a law entitled “Rizal Law”. This aims to give awareness to Filipinos about the ideas and contributions of Rizal to the Filipino nationalism. Second, because of the lessons contained within the course itself. This aims to connect the ideals and teachings of Rizal to the contemporary society. It also aims that we appreciate and deeply understand what Rizal fought for. Finally, this aims to foster the development of Filipinos in all aspect of their citizenship. 2. What is the significance to your course?
