For me, the habit with the most powerful message is Habit #7 – Sharpen the Saw, explained by Covey as

a way to renew the four dimensions of our nature: physical, spiritual, mental and social/emotional.

I would basically describe this as “Not seeing the wood for the trees”, a situation which occurs very
frequently because we get so involved in our daily routine that we’re unable to see the bigger picture.

We only think about about achieving something, so that we start right away and we won’t stop until we
finish, without realizing that there are more efficient ways of getting there.

A good physical condition will keep us strong down the road, while a good spiritual/mental training will
keep us focused and capable of finding the best solutions.

Last but not least, I’m currently trying to do my best on improving my social/emotional dimension, also
described in Habit #5 as seeking first to understand, not to be understood. I’ve found it very peaceful
not putting myself on the first place all the time, not speaking about my problems and waiting for
answers, but listenings to others and trying to help them.
