AN ANALYSIS STUDENTS’ ABILITY OF READING ENGLISH TEXTS IN

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

INTRODUCTION
An English is important for education,proffesion, and tecnology in the world. Then
english is very well taught since childhood. English language skills fall into 4 categories
including speaking, reading, listening, writing. Unfortunetly, English skill in Indonesia is
low. Because it was study english is so Easy but difficult to understanding. An english is
important for the student’s future. The student must be to learn the english so find.
By improving the student’s reading skills, we get some strengths and weaknesses of
reading from student. An english in indonesia is low because in indonesia it uses two
languages,namely indonesian and their respective regional languages. In addition, recently,
English language learning for elementary school children has been abolished by the
government because of this learning a foreign language will only make them a burden.
Remembering that today's children forget or don't know or have deliberately left their local
language.
In this article, the author wants to analyze elementary school students' English
language skills, especially for their reading skills. The reason the writer focuses on reading is
because the elementary level students 'reading ability is very weak, especially the students'
pronunciation / pronunciation. with this article we can understand that reading skills,
especially elementary schools, are very minimal. This is what will be the sample to
determine the students' reading ability.
