1. Myanmar president arrives on two-day tour of Bodh Gaya

• The Myanmarese first couple later offered prayers at the Maha Bodhi

temple, a UNESCO world heritage site, which also has within its premises

the "Bodhi tree" under which Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment.

• Myanmar president Win Myint.

2. E-governance gold medal for Bihar

• The Union Ministry of Personnel (Administrative Reforms) announced that

the state had won the e-governance gold medal for its project

called 'Jankari' call centre. The call centres are an easy access complaint

cells opened by the state under the Right to Information (RTI).

• "The award acknowledges the outstanding performance of the State

Government in citizen-centric service delivery achieved through the facility

provided to the people of Bihar”. The award will be conferred at the national

e-governance conference at Goa on February 12.

3. Launch of Parimarjan Portal in Bihar for Correction in the Digitized

Jamabandi Register

• Under the ambit of implementation of Digital Land-Records Modernization

Programme (DILRMP), Digitization of Jamabandi data is the first step for

extending ICT based services to citizen of the state from the arena of

revenue, and it is important to regularly improve the quality of consolidated

Jamabandi data and services based on it.

• ‘Parimarjan’ is a G2C initiative launched by the department for extending

online services to its citizen for accepting citizen’s online request for

permissible correction in Jamabandi data content as per legal procedure.

4. Bihar Day

• Bihar Day is observed every year on March 22, marking the formation of the

state of Bihar. It was on this day when the British carved out the state from

Bengal in 1912.

5. Visually impaired teacher from Bihar is a torch bearer of literacy, bags

national award

• In recognition of their service towards education, Sant kumar Sahni and

Akhileshwar Pathak of Saran district will by conferred upon the National

Teacher’s Award.

6. Jal Jeevan Haryali Day will be celebrated on first Tuesday of every month in

all schools of Bihar

• The aim of the project is identification and renovation of ponds and other

traditional modes of water conservation like ‘Aahar’ and ‘Paaeen’ using

satellite mapping Survey, the ponds, Aahar and paaeens have been

identified. The maps have been sent to the respective districts. They would

be renovated and new sources for water conservation would also be explored

depending on the area.
